Aires 1/32 scale
F/A-18C Closed Burner Nozzles will be available online from Squadron.com
Beautifully moulded in
a dark grey resin, Aires has captured all of the intricate detail of the
F/A-18C Hornet’s exhaust nozzles.
Detail from the turbine through to the flaps of the exhaust nozzle
aperture has been faithfully reproduced. Two closed nozzles are supplied
to replace the 1/32 scale Academy kit parts.
The cooling liner area
within the afterburner has the fine detail showing the different liner
sections, and the length of the afterburner looks to be to scale. The
inner hot flap area is supplied as a separate insert to be fitted inside
the cold flap aperture. The cold flaps are the later style with the
small cut out on the outside edge. Two nicely etched metal flame holders
are included to be inserted just after the turbine and will add to the
exceptional detail already provided.
Assembly should be straightforward, with only basic modelling skills
being required to install this detail set as there is no modification of
the kit parts required for these exhausts to drop in.
I thought that the detail on the kit nozzles was good until I compared
the two
Highly Recommended.
