Mig-29 Burner Cans are available online from Squadron.com
4189 is the latest
addition to the ever expanding range of resin exhaust cans from Aires
Hobby Models.
The set consists of six resin parts and two etched metal ones that
represent the rear faces of the engines. The exhaust parts are cast in
the light tan coloured resin that we are used to seeing from Airies. The
casting is superb and jam-packed with crisp detail. The trailing edges
of the cans are beautifully done with the edges being of even thickness
and they are so thin that they are translucent. All of the resin parts
are without fault. There are no miscasts, pinholes or flash – perfect!
The people at Airies have done us a favour too as they have cast a
clearly defined line between the part and the casting block itself to
make the removal task a cinch.
The instruction sheet is small and contains simple drawings to assist
you with the construction. No painting guide is provided apart from the
photograph of the completed cans on the box top.

Aires really seem to
have got packaging down pat. The resin parts are tightly packed into a
ziploc bag which is then wrapped in bubble wrap. The etched metal parts
are contained in a separate plastic bag along with a stiff cardboard
backing so that they can't be bent. The card and the bubble wrapped
resin parts are packed into a stiff cardboard box which is then shrink
wrapped!
Nice stuff from Aires. The set has been designed for use with the
Academy kit which it will certainly enhance.
Recommended.
