Messerschmitt Me 262 Flaps 1/48 scale for Tamiya

For those of us who like to animate our aircraft, Aires have added a set of Me 262 flaps to their catalogue.

Eight items are provided in Aires usual cream coloured resin. They are free of any air bubbles and where necessary, the edges are razor sharp.

If using these parts for the Tamiya kit (for which they are a perfect fit), I would recommend sanding off the delicate raised rivet detail. As the aforementioned kit doesn’t reproduce this feature, the replacement items would look out of place.

Thoughtfully Aires also include the “blanking plates” that fill the gap between the wings after the necessary surgery. These are also suitably detailed but strangely no mention of them is made on the instruction sheet.

This is an easy way to make your chosen Me 262 a little more interesting than just “out of the box” (not that there’s anything wrong with that!).
