Aires has released a simple wheel well upgrade for Tamiya's 1/48 scale Focke-Wulf Fw 190F-8 and newer A-8 kits.

The wheel bay set is beautifully detailed, and a noticeable improvement over the kit parts. The bays feature excellent  structural elements. Replacement cannon barrels, hollowed out at the muzzle, are also included.

Once the gear bay is prepared it should be a straightforward replacement for the kit parts.

It is important to note that the main resin part is cast onto a long block which will have to be completely removed prior to installation. You will need to check that the thickness of the resin does not interfere with the fit of the kit's upper wing and cockpit before committing to glue too. However, some extra time spent preparing and test-fitting should result in a satisfying and impressive result.
