Beautifully moulded in pale grey resin Aires has captured in 1/72 scale all of the fine detail that they put into their 1/48 scale F-16 Falcon Undercarriage Bays set.

14 resin parts complete the set that has been specifically designed for the 1/72 scale Hasegawa F-16 family.

Assembly is very straight forward with some minor removal some of the kit plastic to allow the resin main wheel bay. Even a novice modeller could use this detail set.

On opening the kit all that I could think was wow! The detail is incredible for 1/72 scale. Comparing the 2 wheel bays with reference photographs there appears to be little detail missing. All of the intricate hydraulic pipes and electrical harness have been faithfully reproduced and would look great highlighted with a wash to capture the detail.

The kit undercarriage doors are no comparison to those supplied by Aires.

The remaining parts are the gear actuators and control arms and these surpass any detail that has ever been supplied in a kit.

The nose gear has to be simply modified to mount onto the corrected upper assembly.

Overall, Aires 1/72 scale F-16 Undercarriage Bays set is a vast improvement on the simplified, or should I say non-existent, kit detail.
