Ultracast has produced a set of resin replacement exhausts
for the Tamiya 1/48 scale Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 kit. These exhausts will also be
suitable for conversions of the D-9 to the D-11, D-12 or D-13 variant. All used
the same style of exhaust.
These flattened exhausts are always more challenging for the modeler to drill
out than rounded pipes, so this style of hollow exhaust is especially welcome.
Also, the flange on the end of each pipe is far more subtle than the slightly
overstated kit parts. A subtle weld seam is also present on the stacks.
Each exhaust is attached to its individual casting block via a thin strip of
resin. This will be very simple to remove with a few swipes of a scriber or a
hobby knife.
Recommended for anyone building the Tamiya 1/48 scale Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9.
