FirstLook

Wingz from VLS has released a versatile accessory for US aircraft - a 1/48 scale MJ-1 Bomb Loader.

This is more than table dressing for your 1/48 scale aircraft. Wingz has provided a very nicely detailed model in its own right.

Wingz' MJ-1 Bomb Loader comprises 20 parts in pale yellow resin, 1 photo-etched fret with another 20 parts, plus a very welcome decal sheet and instructions. Casting quality of the resin parts is very good, with fairly manageable casting blocks.

The focus of the set is the (relatively) large main body of the vehicle. This is well rendered, with plenty of detail cast on including vents, grilles, lights and instruments.

The loading arms are photo-etched parts. These are supplied in fairly soft copper, so some care will be required not to bend or damage the parts before, during or after assembly.

Instructions are set out in eight steps and include some essential tips to avoid trouble during construction. Ignore them at your peril! A decal placement guide for the 25+ markings is also included.

This is a nicely detailed package that will be a great compliment to your USAF aircraft, or as a display piece in its own right.

Recommended.

Thanks to VLS for the review samples
