This detail set from Polish accessory company Part is designed for 1/48 scale P-51/ A-36 / Mustang Mk. I kits from Accurate Miniatures and ICM.

Two frets of photo etched parts and one printed acetate sheet makes up this set.

The main focus of the detail set is the cockpit. A new six-part instrument panel with acetate instruments looks very nice, as does the replacement rudder and throttle assemblies. Two alternate seats are supplied - a "wooden" version and a metal seat. A single set of harnesses is supplied for the selected seat. Lots of other small cockpit details are also covered.

The most ambitious aspect of the set is the replacement canopy framing. This permits the canopy to be depicted "folded" open.

Additional details include fins for the bombs, supercharger intake parts, oleo scissors, tie-down points and gear door skins for the inner main undercarriage and for the tail wheel.

This is a very impressive detail set. Due to the complex folding, the number of small parts and the need for minor scratchbuilding, this set will be most appropriate for modellers with some experience of working with photo-etch.

Recommended.
