It is a little surprising that it has taken this long for Ultracast to release a series of tyres for the P-51 Mustang, but here they are:

  • 48132 - P-51 Mustang Wheels - Diamond Tread

  • 48133 - P-51 Mustang Wheels - Block Tread

  • 48134 - P-51 Mustang Wheels - Radial Tread

  • 48135 - P-51 Mustang Wheels - Smooth Style (Early Mustangs)

Detail is very crisp on all the releases, including valve stems on the wheels. The tread patterns are deep and consistent. Another advantage is that there is no troublesome seam line to remove (along with tread detail) as is the case with plastic kit wheels.

These resin replacement wheels will make for some interesting variation on standard kit undercarriage parts.
