FirstLook

Pavla has released a set of RAF ground equipment plus a resin base in 1/144 scale. This is a welcome release, as accessories in this small scale are relatively rare. There have been some beautiful little kits released in recent years too, including Sweet's 1/144 scale Hurricane which will benefit from these accessories.

Pavla's RAF Ground Equipment set comprises 18 parts in pale yellow resin. Casting quality is high, and casting blocks will not present a problem. There is some very fine flash to clean up but, once again, this will be a fast easy job.

The resin parts will deliver an airfield cart, an elevated maintenance platform, a 44 gallon drum, chocks, a sign post two fire extinguishers, boxes and cans. These will all be handy as diorama accessories, and will lend a sense of scale to these tiny models.

In addition to the equipment, Pavla supplies a resin base. To my eye, the texture looks a little overdone on the raw resin, but it looks okay painted on the box top.

This is a unique and interesting set that will certainly enhance your 1/144 scale models. I know that they will look great in front of my cardbaord Corgi RAF hangars!
