Moulded in pale yellow resin, Pavla has captured in 1/48
scale all of the chunky detail of the very busy Hind cockpit.
There are 17 resin parts that go together to complete the set that has
been specifically designed for the 1/48 scale Monogram and Mini Hobby
Models Kits. I have seen some photographs of the cockpit and in typical
Russian style for that period the cockpit is very agricultural by
western standards. The switches, console panels and instrument panels
have been captured and would look great highlighted with a wash to
enhance the detail.
Assembly of the cockpit is very straightforward with no apparent
modification required of the kit plastic to allow the new cockpit to
fit. The cockpit tub is made up of one big chunk of resin. Into this go
some nicely moulded parts such as the instrument panels, control column,
levers, electronics boxes, fire extinguisher and some levers and
switches. The remaining parts are the seats and a fan. The fan is
provided to replace the kit part and is fitted to the inside of the
canopy. The two seats have the seat harness mould on to the seats to
complete the detail. Each harness is made up of 10 separate parts and
will look superb when complete. The instructions are easy to follow with
exceptional graphic detail.
The cockpit colour guide is comprehensive and provides the Humbrol and
Agama colour numbers. Overall this is a vast improvement on the
simplified kit detail provided in the kit, and an excellent addition to
increase the detail in a highly visible area.
Highly Recommended even for beginner modellers as no modification of the
kit is required. .
