Nicely moulded in pale yellow resin, Pavla has captured in 1/72 scale a nice cockpit replacement for the basic cockpit provided in the Airfix/Heller Saab J-29 Tunnan kit.

There are 8 resin parts that go together to complete the cockpit as well as a replacement vacuum formed canopy. Assembly is straightforward with no apparent modification required of the kit plastic to allow the new cockpit to fit. Even a modeller with little modelling skill could use this detail set. The detail is nice for 1/72 scale and having seen the detail provided in the Airfix/Heller kit, it is a vast improvement.

The main instrument panel and side consoles have some basic details and a wash and highlighting will add some life to the basic cockpit. The control column is moulded with detail far superior to the basic pole provided in the Matchbox/Heller kit. The remaining parts are the ejection seat and replacement main wheels. The ejection seat has the seat harness moulded to the seat while the wheels have some improved spoke detail. A replacement part for the area behind the ejection seat is provided and this contains the canopy sliding actuator gear, something that was missing in the kit.

Pavla has delivered a vast improvement on the simplified kit cockpit and main wheel detail.

Highly Recommended
