Quick Boost has released P-38 Lightning’s Engine inserts in a quick fit panel for both the 1/48 and 1/72 scale Academy kits.

As both detail sets are identical in 1/48 and 1/72 I decided to review them together.

The parts are beautifully cast in grey resin.

Detail provided for the engine panel has been faithfully reproduced and is designed as a straight drop into the Academy kits after some minor panel surgery to remove the side engine bay panel.

After carefully painting the detail a wash with a dark watercolour or oils will give a convincing three dimensional effect.

The end result should be excellent, enhancing the kit nicely. Basic modelling skills will be required to assemble these detail sets.

Highly Recommended for intermediate modellers.
