Quickboost is a brand of Aires from the Czech Republic that specializes in 1/32, 1/48 and 1/72 scale aircraft correction and conversion parts.

Quickboost’s 1/72 scale P-47D-5/6 (G-5) Conversion Cowling would have to be the best bit of resin casting I have ever seen. At first glance it looks like very good injection plastic. It is so clean and shiny and the detail is so precise, even the pour block looks very well done. If this is an example of all their mouldings then we are in for a treat.

There is only one part in this set - a cowling to fit the Tamiya 1/72 scale P-47D Razorback Thunderbolt to make it a D-5, D-6 or the Curtis built G-5. The difference is the five cow-flaps on each side have the same cord as opposed to the bottom two on each side having a slightly shorter cord. I am reliably informed that this is the case.

Care will have to be taken removing the pour block and cleaning up the leading edge but other than that it should be a straight fit onto the Tamiya kit.

The quality of the moulding is second to none and I'm really looking forward to seeing some more of their offerings.

Highly Recommended.

Thanks to Aires for the review sample
