Quickboost continues their prolific release schedule with a number of simple, economical accessories in 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32 scales. Tonight we take a look at some of the latest releases in 1/48 scale.

All the sets are perfectly cast in grey resin, with minimal cleanup required. Each set has been designed with a minimum of parts, and should be very straightforward to assemble.

The latest batch of 1/48 scale Quickboost releases are as follows:

QB 48 058 - Polikarpov I-16 Engine

This is a simple, one piece replacement for the Eduard kit. Cooling fins on the cylinders and crankcase detail is excellent, but you will have to add your own pushrods and ignition wiring. Aires has thoughtfully provided fairly deep holes for the pushrods in the top of the cylinders, making this task easy to achieve with some brass wire.

QB 48 060 - P-51D Mustang Exhausts

A drop-fit replacement for the exhausts in any of Tamiya's 1/48 scale P-51D Mustang kits. The exhaust stacks are all hollowed out at the ends, and the parts are connected to the casting block via a thin strip

QB 48 067 - Spitfire Mk.IX Flat Tank

A conformal drop tank for Hasegawa's Spitfire Mk.IX. These were frequently seen fitted, so it is a very handy little accessory that will be simple to install.

QB 48 068 - Hawker Typhoon Exhausts

QB 48 070 - SBD-3 Dauntless Engine

This is a simple, two-piece replacement for the Accurate Miniatures kit. One part is the engine itself, and the other is the mount. Cooling fins on the cylinders and crankcase detail is excellent, but you will have to add your own pushrods and ignition wiring.
