FirstLook

Quickboost continues their prolific release schedule with a number of simple, economical accessories in 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32 scales. Tonight we take a look at some of the latest releases in 1/72 scale.

All the sets are perfectly cast in grey resin, with minimal cleanup required. Each set has been designed with a minimum of parts, and should be very straightforward to assemble.

The latest batch of 1/72 scale Quickboost releases are as follows:

QB 72 041 - Harrier Gr.5 Nose

A simple resin replacement for the nose of Hasegawa's 1/72 scale Harrier Gr.5 kit

QB 72 049 - B-17G Flying Fortress Engines

Four, two piece replacement for the engines in the Academy kit. Cooling fins on the cylinders and crankcase detail is excellent, but you will have to add your own pushrods and ignition wiring. Nobody would blame you if you did not attempt it in this scale though! A very nice addition to the Academy Flying Fortress.

QB 72 050 - B-24 Liberator Engines

Four, one piece replacement for the engines in the Academy kit. Cooling fins on the cylinders and crankcase detail is excellent, but you will have to add your own pushrods and ignition wiring. Nobody would blame you if you did not attempt it in this scale though! A very nice addition to the Academy Liberator.

QB 72 051 - DC-3 Dakota Engines

Four, one piece replacement for the engines in the either the Italeri or Airfix DC-3 kits. Cooling fins on the cylinders and crankcase detail is excellent, but you will have to add your own pushrods and ignition wiring. Nobody would blame you if you did not attempt it in this scale though! A very nice addition to these small scale Dakotas.

QB 72 052 - B-239 Buffalo Engine

A simple, one piece replacement for the engine in the 1/72 scale Tamiya kit.

QB 72 053 - TBM-1 Avenger Engine

A simple, one piece replacement for the engine in the 1/72 scale Hasegawa Avenger kits.

QB 72 054 - Junkers Ju 88A-4 Guns

These are not just the gun barrels, but the entire guns and they are little gems. The Zwilling gun for the rear of the canopy is especially nice. They are very fin (and therefore delicate), but will be a noticeable improvement for the armament in either the new Hasegawa or older Ju 88 kits.

QB 72 055 - B-25J Mitchell Gun Barrels

Simple replacement gun barrels for the Hasegawa / Revell Mitchell kits.

All Recommended.
