Here is a quick review of Cooper Details newest release, a complete set of replacement propeller blades and spinners for the Trumpeter 1/72 TU-95MS kit. This set is astounding in its detail compared to the kit parts which are crudely moulded and have huge sprue gates attached to the blade cuffs.

Cooper provides you with all eight complete propellers along with the four spinners. They are all very well moulded and have no pinholes or warps. The blades are nice and thin.

The only difficult part may be attaching the blades evenly on the spinners. This however can be overcome with a dose of patience and a good plan. The set also has detailed painting instructions to help make the blades even that more accurate.

Now a real quick comparison to the kit parts is in order here. The kits blades are moulded to the spinners and are attached with fairly large sprue gates on the blade cuffs. These gates will make it tough to get a good smooth finish to the blades for painting. The spinners also have a huge mould mark running around the circumference of each of them. Once again a tough fix. Coopers spinner is also much more detailed than the Trumpeter one.

In summary, this is a great set. I would highly recommend it to anyone who plans on building their Trumpeter Bear. Heck even if you already built it, strip the kit propellers off and replace them with this set!

My hat goes off to Roy Sutherland of Cooper Details for once again taking some of my hard earned cash. It was money well spent.

Recommended.
