Ultracast's latest releases cover replacement exhausts specifically designed for Hasegawa's new family of P-40 kits, plus some other accessories that will be suitable for any 1/48 scale Warhawk kit on the market:

48151  Curtiss P-40 Seats (without harness)

Ultracast released two seats for P-40 kits back in 1999. These sets offered the choice of moulded-on US and Sutton harnesses.

Ultracast's newest P-40 seats are just as nicely detailed as their first offerings, but are presented without a harness. A nice touch is the inclusion of the lap harness mounts on the sides of the seats.

If you have a preference for the new generation of colour photo-etched harnesses, or even if you make your own straps, these seats will represent an improvement over the Hasegawa (or for that matter any other brand) kit items.

48152  Curtiss P-40E Tubular Exhausts (fits Hasegawa kits)

Ultracast has quickly come to the Hasegawa P-40 party by releasing a set of tubular exhausts to replace the kit items.

The tubular exhausts will be suitable for the P-40D and early to mid production P-40Es. The exhausts are specifically designed for the Hasegawa kit and appear unlikely to fir any other brands without a lot of extra work.

Hasegawa's kit parts are not bad, but Ultracast's replacements are typically gorgeous.

Detail even includes manifold bolts that may be glimpsed through the engine cowling cutouts, weld seams on the stubs and, as might be expected, deeply hollowed ends.

48153  Curtiss P-40E-N Flared Exhausts (fits Hasegawa kits)

Once again, Ultracast comes to the rescue with a delightful set of fishtail exhausts for Hasegawa's P-40 kits.

The curved outlet is convincingly depicted and hollowed out in Ultracast fashion. Similar to the P-40E exhausts, these are also detailed at the manifold end. Very nice indeed!

This style of exhaust was fitted to late production P-40Es and Kittyhawk Mk.Ia in addition to the later variants, so there will be plenty of opportunities to use these lovely resin parts.

48154 Curtiss P-40 Wheels Smooth Style (30" x 10" for all variants except P-40N)

48155 Curtiss P-40 Wheels Diamond Tread (30" x 10" for all variants except P-40N)

48156 Curtiss P-40 Wheels Block Tread (30" x 10" for all variants except P-40N)

These three new wheel sets will be suitable for any brand of the appropriate P-40 variant. The tyres are subtly weighed and bulged.

Detail, as usual, is excellent. Under magnification it is even possible to see slot details in the screws for the wheel covers!

Hasegawa's 1/48 scale P-40E and P-40N kits are the best Warhawk kits currently available in any scale.

Ultracast's well-targeted accessories will make them even better.
