48157 Curtiss P-40N Wheels Block Tread (27"
8 spoked wheels)
48158 Curtiss P-40N Wheels Diamond Tread (27"
8 spoked wheels)
The P-40N started life as a lightweight design. Part of the strategy to
reduce the weight of the N model Warhawk was to use smaller main wheels.
These two new wheel sets will be suitable for any brand of P-40N, or even for
a TP-40N conversion, and presumably the XP-40Q too. The tyres are subtly weighed and bulged.
The only difference between these two releases are the tread pattern. One is
a block tread, while the second is a diamond pattern.
Detail of the tread patterns and the spoked wheel is, as usual, is excellent.
Hasegawa's 1/48 scale P-40N kit is the best
Warhawk kits currently available, and Eduard has also just re-released Mauve's
very respectable P-40N with lots of updated detail.
Ultracast's well-targeted wheels will make either of these
good kits even
better.
Highly Recommended.
