Pete’s Hangar's latest accessory for 1/72 scale Vultee Vengeance kits is a
replacement wheel well.
This set joins the excellent multimedia
cockpit, plus the engine and cowl sets offered by the same company for the 1/72 scale Vengeance, reviewed
earlier on HyperScale.
This simple set comprises just two parts in caramel coloured resin – one wheel
well for each side. The parts are "handed". One is applicable to the Port side
and one for Starboard. Both parts are
perfectly formed in my sample.
The sides and the roof of the wheel well feature crisp, raised structural
detail.
Casting blocks are connected by a fairly thin attachment strip along one side
only. The wheel wells should be a drop fit in kits derived from the old Frog
mouldings; but the top of the resin parts will need to be sanded back for the
newer Special Hobby kit.
The Pete's Hangar Vengeance Wheel Well set will be a nice way to finish off
any superdetailed Vengeance kit in 1/72 scale.
