FirstLook

Wingz from VLS has released a versatile accessory for Luftwaffe aircraft - a 1/32 scale Luftwaffe Service Cart.

This is more than table dressing for your 1/32 scale Bf 109 or Fw 190. Wingz has delivered a very nicely detailed model in its own right.

Wingz' 1/32 scale Luftwaffe Service Cart comprises 32 parts in pale yellow resin plus a length of tin wire representing the hose. Casting quality of the resin parts is very good, with fairly manageable casting blocks, although special care will be required not to remove tread detail when cleaning up the wheels.

The focus of the set is the main body of the cart. This is very well rendered as a solid resin part with plenty of detail already cast in place, simplifying construction.

Instructions are provided on one side of a single letter sized sheet. There are four diagrams only - parts layout, right side view of completed cart, left side view of completed cart and a small detail photo behind the wheels. Considering the relatively basic assistance provided by these diagrams, I recommend taking your time and test fitting regularly before committing to glue.

An alternate set of steel wheels is supplied, although their typical usage is not mentioned in the instructions. I assume that these narrow wheels would not have been used on soft ground, though.

Conclusion

I was delighted to see Wingz' 1/32 scale Luftwaffe Service Cart announced a few months ago, and it does not disappoint on arrival. It is well detailed, well cast and versatile.

With the explosion of 1/32 scale Luftwaffe model releases over the last few years, it is very pleasing to see complimentary accessories like this starting to appear too.

Now, if only there were more 1/32 scale Luftwaffe figures available too!

Recommended.
